How to get the free Mythic weapon
Pick ISO Hemlock — Core of Thunder, Static-HV — Core of Fire, or BAL-27 — Core of Reason as your target, then work through the weekly missions. Harder challenges also count toward your progress. You can switch weapons while the event is running, but your choice becomes final once you finish the event and claim the reward.
Which Mythic weapon should you choose?
Match the weapon to how you normally play. ISO Hemlock suits players who want a high-damage, low-recoil assault rifle for mid-range fights. Static-HV is geared toward aggressive SMG play, with a high fire rate and a 50-round magazine. BAL-27 — Core of Reason is the familiar option if the BAL-27 is already part of your regular loadouts. Since you can switch targets before claiming the reward, you don't need to settle on your final choice on day one.
Unlock the two new base weapons first
The free Battle Pass includes the base ISO Hemlock. To unlock Static-HV, spend Tokens from Standard, Special, and Elite Missions in the Challenge Pass Exchange. Try both weapons in your usual modes and loadouts before choosing between their Mythic versions. If the BAL-27 is already in your rotation, compare that familiar option with the two newcomers.
How long will the event take?
This isn't a launch-week giveaway. Activision describes it as a multi-season event built around weekly missions and says earning the reward will take longer than a few weeks. Exact point requirements haven't been announced, so check the event each week and clear the available missions while you test your options.
Other Season 8 content worth knowing
Against All Fate also adds a top-down roguelike Multiplayer mode for up to three players and the limited-time Quantum Platform area in Battle Royale on Isolated. Both are part of the Honkai Impact 3rd collaboration, but the free Mythic reward progresses through its own weekly missions.
What to do when Season 8 launches
Start by choosing one of the three Mythics as your target and checking the weekly mission list. Work through the free Battle Pass to unlock ISO Hemlock, and earn Challenge Pass Tokens for Static-HV. Try both base weapons in the modes you already play, then keep or change your Mythic target before the final claim. The three Honkai Lucky Draws arrive on September 11 UTC, but they're separate from the free Mythic event.
